LOMONDROCK AFC 4 V MILLERSTON AFC 0

The rock took on bottom side MILLERSTON at the Argyll on sat knowing anything but 3pts could dent their promotion hopes for this season.

The objective was clear, 3pts and hopefully a clean sheet, and that’s exactly what we got but not much else, the rock made hard work of it against a stuffy MILLERSTON who huffed and puffed all day, but posed no real goal threat.

The first half was a pretty unforgettable affair with the rock having most of the play as the away team sat back and soaked up the pressure, and it wasn’t until midway through the first half that the rock finally got a break through when a Revie pile driver took a wee deflection and flew into the net 1-0. The rock tried to add a second before the break but couldn’t find away through the MILLERSTON back line. Ht 1-0.

The rock brought on Dow for Burch and moved C Graham back into the centre of the park and the rock started to look a bit more of a threat. And they soon got that killer second goal when a corner from Revie wasn’t cleared properly and Dow slammed home the second goal. This knocked the stuffing out the away side and the rock added another from Dow again a good finish from the big striker. Doherty was brought on to replace O’Malley and this allowed Graham to push forward and he grabbed the final goal when he picked up the loose ball drove forward and slammed the ball past the keeper 4-0 f/t.

In the end job done and 3pts in the bag, a hardworking performance if not spectacular with Stephen Revie getting the man of the match.
